PHYSIO BY VIDEO - TELEHEALTH

HOW does it WORK?

STEP ONE - APPOINTMENT INFORMATION

The day before your appointment, you will receive an email to explain how to get the most out of your Physio by Video appointment.  Simple things, such as App Download (if using Apple or Android Device), how to position the device to make assessments easier, what to wear and so forth.  Rest assured, everything is simple, even for those less tech-savvy patients.

STEP TWO - INITIAL ASSESSMENT

Your Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist will ask you a range of questions regarding your condition and general health - just like they would if you attended our clinics.  This is called a "subjective" assessment and provides our Physiotherapist with information to form the differential diagnosis (the different possible diagnosis of your condition).

* 4 Life Physiotherapy cannot guarantee that all Physiotherapists will be this good looking!

STEP THREE - MOVEMENT ASSESSMENT

Your Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist consider your answers and will ask you to perform a range of movement tests to get a better understanding of your condition.  You won't be asked to do anything you are not comfortable doing.  These movement tests will help to better diagnose your condition and prescribe the appropriate treatment.

STEP FOUR - EXPLANATION & REHABILITATION PROGRAM

Your Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist will explain your diagnosis and treatment plan.  Our rehabilitation programs are sent to a free app on your smartphone (and can also be accessed via laptop and printed).  You view video demonstrations of your program, set reminders to exercise, rate your pain and log your progress.

  • Do I need a referral?
No. All of our physiotherapists are registered with all of Australia’s major private health insurance companies which do not require a medical referral to cover Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Remedial Massage or Exercise Physiology services. We are also happy to treat any non-insured private paying clients without a referral. A referral is only required if you intend to make a claim under Workers Compensation, Motor Vehicle Accident Insurance, Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) or Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • How do I claim on my private health insurance?
Thanks to our TYRO integrated EFTPOS system claiming on your private health insurance has never been easier. Just bring your private health insurance card with you and instant rebates can be provided on the spot with any remaining balance then paid as you wish.
  • How much will my private health cover?
The exact amount of the rebate will vary depending on your policy and level of cover. These can be done on a percentage or annual dollar amount basis, with some top level policies covering up to 100% of the cost of a session. The only accurate way to know before your session is to speak to your health fund.
  • What do I need to bring with me?
The more background information you provide, the better. If you have any referral paperwork, doctors’ letters or reports, or relevant test results such as x-rays, MRI’s, CT scans and Ultrasounds then please bring these with you. If you are taking multiple medications, or have a complex medical history it may be helpful to bring a list with you.
  • What should I wear?
As part of your initial session your physiotherapist will conduct a thorough physical assessment of the injured area. Please wear loose fitting or appropriate clothing that will make this easy. If you are going to be using the gym area, please wear enclosed shoes and bring a drink & towel with you.
  • Do you accept Workers Compensation, DVA or Motor Vehicle Insurance patients?"
Yes we accept all new patients and are happy to provide GAP free services to all approved Workers Compensation, DVA & Motor Vehicle Insurance patients with the appropriate referrals. (Please call for more information on exactly what is required for a valid referral).
  • Do you charge a gap fee on Medicare (EPC) sessions?
No. As healthcare providers we believe that Physiotherapy, Podiatry and Exercise Physiology services should be accessible to all and as such, we are the only practice in the area to charge NO GAP FEE ON MEDICARE SESSIONS. Rarely, there are services not covered under an EPC referral, such as surgical procedures performed by our Podiatrists. In this case, your assessment consultation is bulk billed and your therapist will discuss any out of pocket expenses should you require these procedures at any subsequent appointments.
  • What are your opening hours?
    We are currently open 5-days per week, Monday to Friday: Monday: 9.30am - 6pm Tuesday: 7.30am - 4pm Wednesday: 9.30am - 6pm Thursday: 7.30am - 4pm Friday: 8.30am - 5pm
